Generally our installer is platform independent and will allow you to install CNG either on Windows, Linux or Mac using the same installer. As CNG is a Java application, however, you will need to make sure you have Oracle-Java Version 7 or above installed on your machine. Most likely this should already be the case.

Download CompendiumNG 2.1.4

NOTE: We are looking forward to hear back from you about any issues and your experience with the installer and CNG in our forum. Your feedback will be valuable towards our development leading up to a first stable release, which will be version 2.2.

Linux specific instructions:

Right click the downloaded ‘jar’ file and select ‘Open with Java Runtime’ this should start the installer. Please also note that CompendiumNG is not designed on OpenJDK, so you have to run it through proprietary Java.

Summary of changes in the 2.1.4 release from a user perspective:

CompendiumNG has some major changes from the previous version. Please see the full list of changes for 2.1.1. for what we have done as part of our earlier prerelease in 2013. The current verion includes all these changes and in addition uses the starndard set of icons again. It also now follows standards for panning and zooming freequently used by other software. Please note that version 2.1.4 now requires Java version 7 to run the installer and the software.
